Driving Licence Record of Points are recorded if your drivers are convicted of a traffic offence, the courts can punish them as well as “endorse” their driving record with penalty points. These endorsements must remain on their driving record for a minimum of four years and a maximum of eleven years. This is determined by the nature of the offence committed.

If you accumulate 12 or more penalty points in a three-year period (6 penalty points in two years for new drivers), you may be prohibited from driving. Speeding is a common cause of penalty points; if any of your drivers is caught speeding, the minimum penalty is a £100 fine and 3 points on their licence.

Regular Driver Licence Checks

This is why conducting an online driving licence check on your employees is critical. If you conduct a check through our system, you will have a record of the driver’s points within the last year and you can review all licence status’s when they have received points, allowing you to keep track of if a driver is not eligible to drive.

Management of Risk

A DVLA licencing check can provide you with up-to-date information about your drivers. To save money, identify at-risk drivers as soon as they become a risk.
